Smogability P/P heads 450whp goal
Im planning on getting a used set of LS1 heads and have them port and polished. I would purchase a new set of aftermarket heads but when it comes to inspections time Ide be fukced. How much porting can be done to retain smogability and yet be able to crank out my goal of 400-450whp with a healthy 224 cam(I believe ide still pass Ca smog with a 224/224 with a good tune otherwise let me know). Mods as of right now are Lid, 160thermo, custom 2.5 True duals, and free mods. Thanks.

I don't know much about what will and what won't pass emissions, but I think 450whp will be hard to reach I think.

I live in Norcal as well and I don't think you are going to be able to get to your goal hp without longtubes and an off road/high flowing y-pipe/x-pipe. P/P your heads and a cam will choke with your stock manifolds or atleast not perform to their best abilities. At best I would say you would be able to get maybe 330-370hp.....
Just ' pay ' for a smog and be done with it and you can do whatever you like

Locally ported 241 castings and a 224 cam will NEVER make your 450rwhp goal, no matter where you live.
There are several other recent threads going on in this section on this EXACT same topic.

That's why I said pay for your smog or supercharge. Yea it sucks but sometimes you have to sacrifice a little to get what you want
