    Talking smog legal cam with good mpg ahhah??? cheaaapppp

    i have a 98 ss m6 70kmi cutout after cats and air lid.

    i live in cali so it NEEDS to be smog legal!!


    i want
    1 good mpg
    2 power
    3 COOL idl sound


    i was thinking ls6 cam/springs, so i can get it used cheap
    ughghh i also dont want to pay for a tune
    any help is much appreciated, thanks

    I believe there's a thread in the Western section concerning what cams will pass Cali smog. I suggest you check there.

    Good luck! Being a Cali native I know what you've got to go through for smog check...
    67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...

    2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.

    ya i seen the smog legal ones but i dont know what need to know wich one will get ok mpg. its my dd to school and back

    any one pass smog witha hotcam?

    Man I'm on the same page. I want to get a cam but laws in Cali suck!

    And I heard they are coming up with new smog laws.
    For example. If your car is 15 years or older you have to do the smog check every year. That's so stupid.

    I have a minivan I had to do the smog check twice in 4 months. Thanks to a new law last year

    every one needs to put a little e85 in there tank. did it with my yota and the smog techs were scratching there heads saying "wow.. were did u get your cat, most new cars dont get that low of a reading"

    but i cant risk failing if i get too big of cam!



    will i NEED a tune with a zo6 cam to pass smog
