Pewter Metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
SLP 1.85-1 rocker arms with a GMPP Hot Cam?
I've had the SLP 1.85-1 rocker arms in my 2000 SS for about 3 years now, and am considering putting in a cam for a little extra broad range 'Oomph' on the street and backroads. The intended use is NOT for 1/4 mile track or even stoplight to stoplight, just moderately increased grunt across the RPM range.
I was thinking of the GMPP "Hot Cam" kit as an all-round solution (this car is a daily -- but spirited -- driver) for moderate gains, at a very good price from GM Parts Direct.
Cam Specs are 218/227, .525/.525, 112 LSA. I don't know how fast the ramp rate is.
My question is, will this cam work satisfactorily with the high-lift rocker arms?
(Please bear in mind that I already have the rockers on the car, bought and paid for, so comments about how 'they're not worth the money' are beside the point.)
Thanks in advance!(Was "Bolide," member since 5/2000). 2000 Camaro SS, M6. SLP Level 1 susp, SFCs + STB, cold air kit, 1.85-1 rockers, Race LCAs + Panhard, Richmond 3.73 gears, B&M Ripper, Shaner S2, MAF ends, Hypertech etc. 328 rwhp (stock tuning)

Silver- 2000 Camaro SS
If you haven't done the calculations
.525 lift with 1.7 rockers = .571 lift with 1.85.
I say do it and don't look back. Should give a noticable difference over stock cam.

Yes, it won't idle too well until you tune it. Who are you going to have tune it, the best tuner in New England is in Seekonk, MA.

Oh yeah it will be surging bad. A good tune will give you more 'Oomph' as well.
