    Is it this simple???

First off, I'm a newbie. I'm about to spray my 400rwhp H/C car with a 125 shot. I've basically found out that with a safe tune, I'll be alright for a few passes but I'll definitely shorten engine life. I priced an SLP short block 408 for about $3700. So, does this mean that after I fry my pistons, I can buy the shortblock reuse my heads, cam, oil pan, water pump and nitrous kit and basically gain a few NA hp and have a car that I can spray all day without worry because I'll never reach the 700hp that the engine is rated to hold?

Yes, practically all the parts on the LS1 will be interchangeable with the LQ4 or LS2.

If you set the spray up right I think you'll be surprised how long your stock stuff will last. The LS1 is a very sturdy motor. The key is the tune. Post up a few questions in the nitrous area, those guys will be more than willing to help you get set up correctly.

I did, and I talked with a couple of tuners. The summation was that it was anyone's guess as to how long it would last. I'm just looking ahead. I don't like my car being down. So, I'm just getting prepared, plus I want more NA horses anyway.

I've seen people spraying 250 all the time with no signs of problems on a stock LS1. You should be fine for a LONG ASS time if your only spraying 125. Granted you have a good tune and your doing everything correctly like using a window switch.
