Should inner valve springs be removed if cam is broken in?
I have a set of alum dual spring heads that I put on my Camaro that had vortec heads on it, that had single springs on the valves that was on the car about 5 years, do I need to remove the inner springs if the cam has already been broken in with the single springs of the vortec heads?

If the cam has already been run in I do not believe it is necessary.

You should only need to swap springs if you you swap in a new cam. Meaning if the springs are rated for the cam that's in it, then no.

I ask this question because my Camaro was running great but I decided to go to a alum head with bigger valves and double springs with a 575 max lift while the vortec heads have been reworked to accept a 525 max lift. When I installed the alum heads I could never get the valves to stop rattling.I adjusted the valves as I always do, but I could never get them to stop I reinstalled my vortec heads now they to will not stop rattling. could this be bad lifters or a bad cam or what? I felt that the alum heads may be in need of a longer or shorter push rod, but the vortec heads was working fine with the rods and the lifters. NEED HELP.The cam is a comp cam 290 with a 501-501 lift.

take valve covers off, start engine and see if all rockers are getting oil.
