Pewter- 1999 Camaro SS-M6 #1775
Is it going to be a race car, a weekend warrior, a daily driver........
One of the best all around cams is the Texas Speed 228R1999 Camaro SS/ Pewter/ #1775 - LS1 6-speed - Predator 3 Custom Tune - Pro 5.0 - LS7 Clutch - 3.90's - Koni's - Strano Springs and Sway Bars - SFC's - Full UMI Chassis and Suspension - LS6 Intake PnP TB - ARH LT's and Kitty Ran Away - Magnaflow.

slp lt's and pipes back to flowmasters, slp T.B manifold, slp MAF, k&n fipk intake, msd ignition, suspension upgrades,o2 deletes, tune, well about the whole driving thing, i dont drive it in the winter, spring summer and fall, i drive it if its nice out. So not a race car, and i guess between a weekend warrior and a DD.

you've pretty much got the set up to run a cam on your car the only thing to top everything off is upgrade your valvesprings to handle the lift of the cam (although there are near stock cams you can run where you don't have to). I haven't been on this site as long as others but while I have, i've seen A LOT!!! of cam threads and even have posted my own. There's one link that can help you in deciding what your looking for when putting a cam in. it's http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=23 scroll down a little and you'll see a chart along with a detailed explanation, it was really helpful in my deciding on what cam to run. Also, there is nothing like experience so if you have some friends with cams, try to do some ride-alongs to get an idea of what your looking for.

Are you going to change heads with the cam swap? What about the idle? Do you what smooth idle, close to stock or a lope to it?

i dunno it seems like it would be a good idea to change the heads but $$$$$$. So I dunno. As for the idle, i dont want it to be moster lopey , but not close to stock.

Looks like something on a reverse split maybe a TR227/224 at a 114lsa. If you do not upgrade the intake or heads. I forgot the lift on the top of my head.
