    Roller Rockers worth the effort/money??

I looked up some studies that seem to conclude that roller rockers are not worth the money and effort on engines with moderate cams. One test showed a engine with a cam with 477/480 lift with a dino of 390 H.P. only got a 1.3% increase in torque and a 2.8% increase in H.P. t 6000 rpm by putting on roller rockers. Their conclusion was to save roller rockers for cams with extremely high lift for all out racing motors.

I'm not happy with my roller rockers, noisey and a pain to adjust. The engine sounds more like a piece of farm equipment now! I think I'll go back to the stamped rockers!

    Opinions?

best bet (unless you have a huge cam) is to keep the stock rockers and get the upgraded bearing cages (can't remember the exact name or who makes them) i'm sure someone will jump in though

Our rockers work really well, it seems that most aftermarket brands work well up to the mid range, but crap out up top (something to do with their size that has a brick effect the higher the motor revs and kills top end).
Spend the money on some better heads

You're working on a SBC, so disregard the above comments.

I only use Comp Pro Mags, NOTHING else, and for good reason. If they're noisy, you did something wrong.

You've asked a LOT of SBC related questions. This IS primarily an LS1 site Not to say you shouldn't post here, but you'll find better SBC info elsewhere.

in my build I'm planning on using a TRex cam which is pretty large and I asked the TR tech if I should use RR or bigger rockers? he said the stock rockers were best for that cam which suprised me because thought for sure he was going to try to get me to buy RR....

First off there are too many of us "Mark's" in this thread lol.
Good catch on sbc Marc 85Z28...I read it as he did a swap... Till I read the lift again and your right. My advide was for an ls1, not a sbc.
