roller rockers
i was thinking of swapping in some 1.7 rollers in my 2000 formula in place of the stock rockers..anyone know the hp gain with this? ...what else needs to be changed? springs ? lifters? pushrods?...

not completely sure, didn't go that route... But if you get the 1.8s you change your overrall lift, higher (not sure just how much though, I don't know the math for figuring it up). I would say you wouldn't be doing wrong by upgrading the rest of the valvetrain while you are there, ie. springs and pushrods.
Quick question: why not just install a cam and upgrade valvetrain? No need for upgrade of rockers then.

Mike,
Yes 1.7's are stock rocker size. Depending on who's product you read they claim a 10-20 h.p increase with the swap to 1.8 or 1.85 rockers. Also, depending on what your looking to do with the engine the stock pushrods should work just fine but as far as the springs go high mileage vehicles should look into changing springs, retainers and locks anyways. Just holler at me and we can do that when you get them.

Thanks Tace02. So with a set of 1.8 rockers your lift would be .525" / .525" and with a set of 1.85 rockers it would be .539" / .539"

be carefull with the springs...stock springs blow and can barely handle stock cam specs...i would deff upgrade the springs..when dealing with valvetrain..its better safe then sorry. the valvetrain is sorta like the spinal cord/nervous system of your engine...something goes wrong then so does everything else..be safe..upgrade your springs too.

They will if you don't blow air into the cylinder to keep them up in the head.
