    Angry Oil Pressure problem

I just finished putting an 2004 LQ9 6.0 Liter with 70K miles into my 1951 Ford. I can not get the air out of the oil pressure line. When the engine is reved I get a maximum of 40 psi. At idle it flucuates from 0 to 25. I adapted to a mechanical oil pressure guage out of the rear sending location. Other than the obvious that the oil pump in sucking air somehow, is this not a good place for the guage pick up??? Any other thoughts???

Everything is stock SS Silverado Truck. I put in 6 qts to fill. Maybe too much oil. I did have to drop the oil pan and take out the pump to fit the engine in the car. Thought that I put it back properly. After reading some other posts, it looks like it is easy to screw up the "O" ring. Doesn't look good for me. Lots of work to remove the oil pan.

Probably the o-ring. They are very easy to pinch. You never know you pinched it until you have this problem and take it back out. You really have to get the pick up tube on very straight and then tighten the bolt. Dont bring the tube up with the bolt. Should not have to force anything. Just bring tube up with your finger and then tighten.

Thanks for the advise. After taking 6 months to build the car to this point, I should be able to disassemble it blind folded.
