    Oil Pressure issue

I have oil pressure. Start the car and it's right where it should be @ 60psi. After driving around it drops to 40psi. All Normal. The strange part is after driving for a while, the gauge starts to twitch at idle. It has even dropped to 20psi or so.

What could that be? Is that a gauge, sender, or pump issue. I am hooking up with a friend to scan it and see if the computer reads the same psi. Are there any ways to figure this out without replacing parts? I have lived with it for a couple of years but, I am going on a trip in a couple of weeks and don't want this to be an issue.

I don't believe the PCM reads oil pressure. None of the scanners that I have used have that option. May be wrong on this...

I installed a temporay full sweep guage for the same issue with my guage to check the "real" oil presure.. Found the stock guage to be inacurate to say the least.. I replaced the sending unit cuz it's cheap with no change @ the stock guage..

What is a full sweep gauge? Have not heard of one.

Were you able to get an accurate reading on your pressure? Did replacing the sending unit correct the issue?

full sweep just just means the indicator travels the whole way around the guage face for readings.. The reading was dead on according to the guage with no fluctuations.. Replacing the sending unit only corrected the choppy movement of my stock guage but it still reads inaccurate.. I believe it's the guage it self that's junk from about day one..
