No oil pressure

I have read where the stock oil pump will give up without warning. Went out to start the car & oil press gauge stayed at zero. No noise from engine, but I don't dare run it. Has anyone else had a similar problem?Not able to work on it here but will take it home on a trailer & tear it down next month. Also, as long as it's going to be apart, is it possible to change the cam without draining the AC? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Did your check gauges light or anything come on? Hate to hear it and hopefully it's just the oil pressure sending unit.
Yeah, you can do a cam swap and keep the a/c system closed. Just push it over out of the way and zip tie it to something.

yeah it has happend to me where it just went out...i was doing about 100 and it just went to zero and not too long after that rod went through the block it was not a good day but it happens so atleast that didnt happen to you keep us posted

thanks for the info. sure hope I didn't hurt anything, but if I did I can always put it back together faster than ever.
