The size of cam really depends on what your intentions are. Is this a DD or going to be used for racing? Are you looking for the maximum amount of hp & tq you can get; if so, are you wanting it at lower or higher rpm's? Or are you wanting increased hp & tq across the powerband? In order to give you a good answer or informed opinion, you'll have to give a little more info about what your goals are....

LMAO...the only way I can see you looking for a cam is if it's for the Grand Am!

    Actually...I am kinda serious.

It does have to pass emissions, so I am thinking about tossing in a stock LS1 cam for a week or two to get it by legally. Then going with a slightly large grind than the one that is in there.

I can't help you to be honest.

Max HP is something I don't look at. Power under the peak is where it is at.
Any cam will lope....so that is subjective.

I tend to recommend the 228R from TSP or the TR224 from Thunder. Want a little more...custom grind time.

Would the 228R be ok for an A4 DD? With tune and stall of course. I had been looking at the 224, but if the 228 gives me a few more horses and is still tame enough for a DD, then why not?

well then Mr. Luos you have my intersest, I'm trying to think of a cam to match up to a set of AFR 205's... I want plenty of torque and under the curve power I don't much care about peak hp... I want to retain as much drivability as possible... I also don't want a cam with too low of an LSA maybe 114 max... but hopefully a touch higher then that... 115...

Hey Curt...do you have a stock LS1 cam or are you needing one still? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what cam & specs do you have now that you might get rid of?
