    my toy

hey guys i am new to this site. i am currently building a lq4/l92 for my 65 elky.
here is what ive got so far. stock lq4 short block (17000mi), cnc'd l92 heads with comp 26918 beehive springs, gm single plane carb intake, comp mutha thumper cam p.n.54-601-11, stock lifters, and wegner front distributor kit (it is for sale if anyone is interested) i am going to run stock truck coils with msd controller. my question is what pushrods , carb size should i use. and also does anyone see a piston to valve clearance problem. i have not started to assemble yet so i have not checked for p to v or pushrod length. i am going to use this for some street and some strip. i also have edelbrock full tube stepd primary headers, tci sfi flexplate and tci th400 with man/rev valvebody and 3000 stahl converter. sorry for the long winded post

    Sure we do

You may want to title your thread with your question "what pushrods , carb size should i use" to get answers

    That may help.

no clue on carb size and the simplest way for rods is to measure. post specs of the cam and some members might know the rod size, but i doubt it. im willing to bet that stall would be better suited for your build if it was a 4k stall. ls1's are matched well with 3400 stalls all stock so if your cam is a mid sized one, 230+/230+ it will perform better with a higher stall.

I will take a guess on the carb and say an 850 should feed it pretty well you might try posting in the classic muscle section too. On the push rod lenght, for $12 you can get a checker to be sure

    I'd go for a 3,500-6,000 convertor (I daily drive mine with a 3,800)

    no pics

sorry i will try to get some pics soon. i am inthe process of building a new shop, and we just sold our house. we have moved twice in to months, so all my stuff is buried right now. i have managed to keep my 6.0l stuff out and have been assembling as time allows. i also recieved my shot block for my drag car a couple of weeks ago. it is a merlin 540 block with an ohio billet crank, ohip extreme duty i beams with l19 bolts, & je forged blower pistons that have been dome,& skirt coated. it is still in the crate. i will try to get some pics this week.
