Pewter- 2000 Camaro SS
Modifications
Ok heres what i have, i have torn the engine apart and replacing the oil pump with the one from TSP. Can i reuse the pick up tube oil ring from the stock oil pump?
I am currently installing the comp 921 spring set on the 243 heads i have and the seals are going on really tough. Is this normal? I lubed it very well before i installed it and tapped them down with a 12 point 10mm socket and they seem to be fine?
I have a double roller timing chain to install and i have the old crank sprocket off now. How do you recommend installing the new doulbe sprcket onto the crank? I thought about putting the sprocket in the oven at around 400 degrees and trying to install, your opinion on this?
Thanks for your answers

Yes you can, but I wouldn't recommend it...go to your local auto parts store and buy a new one for $3.
Yes...means there is a good seal.
Lube up the crank with engine oil and tap it on with a BRASS hammer.
I wouldn't...see above suggestion.

When you put your oil pump on rub some grease on the face of it and the bolts around the crank snout, then without the timing cover gasket slid the timing cover in place....pull it back off and look inside of it to see if and where you need to do some grinding....I had a Melling 10295 that needed a good bit of grinding to be done on the timing cover to fit with the double roller chain....when I got my 10296 it had flush mount screws holding it together so it might have fit without grinding but I had already ground mine for the last pump so I can't be sure
