metal flakes
just changed my oil and found metal flakes in the oil. is this a normal thing for the ls1? m6 car with 37k, no codes, misfires, or anything along those lines

not really normal to have metal coming out with your oil. Might want to investigate this further

is there any thing that an ls1 is prone for like valve train wear or is this anything goes as far as bearings and everything that has friction?

Sample your oil and send it to Blackstone Labs. They will tell you if you have a problem. I have never seen metal particles in my cars oil that could be detected by sight.

NOT NORMAL!!

well there is nothing sticking to the magnet on the drain plug so its not any steel items but i did take a sample to send out.

take a picture,i may be able to tell you something after seeing what it looks like.Sounds like bearings,is the engine knocking?Bearings in the oil would look silvery-flaky and mashed pieces of thin metal.
