lucas oil treatment for lifter tap

what do you guys think of this stuff for clearing up lifter tap? i did a cam/header/spring swap and have some lifter tap on the driver side bank when it warms up. it gets kind of loud at times and then quiets back down. but like i said only when it warms up, not at cold start up.

You shouldn't need any oil additives. How do you know the noise you hear is lifter tap? You just put a bigger cam in a notoriously noisy engine and made it noisier. If your lifter is really smacking a lobe on the cam I wouldn't even run the engine. Lucas wouldn't help.

i know what lifter tap sounds like. and i've had several people swear by this stuff, and not just some joe schmoe a few of them that have knowledge in this dept. i was just wandering if anyone had used it in our cars and how it worked for them.

that sounds like one of your rockers isn't on right... retorque your rockers again and see if that doesn't fix it... it won't hurt nothing to start your car with the valve covers off... just put some towles down for oil squirting...

if you have lifter tap you should replace the lifter... oil is not going ot make it better... it's just more or less masking it...

    is your SES light on?

no ses light on. i dont think its the rocker arm because when it idles you can hear the lifter tap faintly, and its coming from down low.
