lsx iron block + boost = ?????????????????
i got a question i sold my race car and now i miss but instead of tracking the ol 1 down i think im goin to make my only none truck to a race car with the help of a supercharged or turbo charged lsx.................now the question is what are the ups and downs of iron blocks over aluminum ????? which woud be better for a power adder application in a full blown racecar .....

Iron block only downfall is the weight of iron. BUT iron does not heat up like aluminum. If your planning on major power, or just straight up reliability, go iron. If you want to shave 100 pounds off the nose of your car, then go aluminum. They do have some really , really strong aluminum blocks out right now. Ether way, horsepower is made.

Personally, I would only go iron if I wanted to make a crazy amount of power.
There are FI LS2 blocks in the 1000 rwhp range and up. I think Mike and Steve were making somewhere around 1300 if I remember correctly, but that was pushing the limits pretty far.
