LSX or Iron Block
Very soon I am going to be starting a huge build project. I am going FTMFW with this one. F1 Procharger, Crazy big stroker, forged internals of course, and at least some 150 juice . I am going to be puting my whole heart into this build whilst trying keep her street legal.(gotta love those Street legal cars drag cars) I was contemplating on the used LQ4/LQ9 iron truck block which i can get for about 1400 used with all parts attached which i can sell off. I am not really worried about internals or any parts on the block, I will be selling almost all of it. OR should I bite the MF bullet and go big with the LSX?? I know most people would say do it right the first time and do the LSX but is it really worth the 2k+ JUST FOR THE BLOCK!! anyone have any exp.?any opinions or suggections will be much appreciated, don't be shy.

Iron block allows much more cylinder pressure without the flex found in the aluminum blocks. Just something to consider for future "mods".

i'd just go with the iron block cheaper, but they also make an iron block lsx. I'd just do a 408

LSX block is crazy $$$... LQ4/9 block can handle your goals. 408 CI is a nice combo and there have been plenty of testers out there. Read up. You need to set some goals here, and the money aspect needs to be at the beginning.

if you want 700 then just get an iron 370 or even use the stock block fill it with forged rods and pistons keep the stock crank and add some boost, voila.
