    Ls6 springs with this cam?

    Lunati 218/221 .516/.534 114 LSA
I know the lift and duration is not a problem but i am worried about the ramp rate. Also how long would the ls6 springs last with the ls6 cam?

I dont really need anyone telling me that i need to get a bigger cam unless you know of one that drives or idles close to stock and will not eat valvesprings and will pass CA. emissions.

    Emissions eh?

Do you have your mind set on that cam? Or are you getting a great deal on it?
If neither ring true...Thunder has their 224/224 on a 114 that will pass emissions.

LS6 springs will last forever on the LS6 cam.
Not sure about the lobes on that Lunati grind. I would go with PAC beehives at minimum...just to be safe.

well i found a good deal on one and i have done lots of research on the tr224 and other 224's like the stealth 2 and all those, but i really want something small that wont chew up valvesprings. I will probably put 40k+ miles on my car the next two years and i dont want to replace the springs even though the partiot golds should be good for about 40k on a smaller cam as long as i dont abuse it. Maybe i should call them tomorrow and see about the ramp rate.

If you are worried about spring life, I would personally go with:

    1st choice - PSI 1511ML

    2nd choice: PAC 1518

Both of the springs have surface treatments to extend service life and will easily handle that cam, both are also a beehive design.

I would recommend a decent set of beehives - more for reliability and valve float prevention than anything else. PAC springs are good.

    Cheers,
