ls2 heads?
hey sorry for these questions about the heads but i have a kid in my class that has an 06 gto m6 i notice lt's some intake manifold, different fuel rails and has drag bags, he doesnt know much about it says got it through salvaged title and about 500 to the wheels bit i highly doubt it definitely doesnt lope but u never know. I saw it had 243 cast numbers on the heads and i know those are ls6's i was just wondering if they came stock with that or that is stock. Also ran a 9.2 at 79 said he was spinnnin. he wants to run the but im not too sure.

2009 Silverado Z71- 2003 Corvette MN6 Black
The LS2 came with 243 Heads, the only difference to the LS6 was the Light Weight Valves.. I think that was it though

the reason the intake probably looked different is that the ls2 uses a completely different intake than an ls1 or ls6 it takes a 90mm TB and uses different rails ironically the intake sucks though and the ls6 intake will make more power on the same engine. With his mods I'd put the dyno around 370whp, ls2 motors arent dyno queens to begin with and coupled with the fact he still has the original crappy intake and the irs saps power his car wont be dynoing too high. you should be able to edge him out in a race

They're stock 243 castings without the lightweight sodium filled valves.

I'd say he needs more driving practice. That 9.2 1/8 mile is about a 14.20 ET or so 1/4 mile.
Just run em' and find out. A race is a race win or lose.

well i just recently got into the ASEP program and the kids are d bags without a doubt so if i lost i would not hear the end of it. i know the intake is different because it said something on it for sure, ill try and find a picture of it somewhere. He said it was spinning a lot. I have pulled pretty easy on ls2 gto's. maybe ill run him he seems to be prettu dumb i dont want anything bad to happen

Not sure, I've never seen a good back to back dyno comparison. I doubt it even comes close to comparing to a FAST. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't give you much gain over an LS6 intake.
Judging by his 1/8 mile mph (which is weak) I doubt the intake did anything at all for his car.

ya unless is cam is extremely small i cant hear one and i dont see why people would do that without other internals first.

I highly doubt he even has a cam with that mph he's running. My 71 ventura with a whimpy 307 is faster than that
And no that's not a joke.
