    ls1/lq4 crank

So I did some research... ls1 and lq4 have the same stroke and everything. I found a cheap oem ls1 crank from auto zone figuring it would work. But the reluctor wheels are in different positions! What make/models/years have the same reluctor placement as my 2000 lq4?
    Thanks

Actually they don't if the lq4 is before 2002 it's crank is longer than the ls1 however all gen III engines will have the same reluctor.

Edit: Nevermind I was confused about the crank.

They should be only one way to install the reluctor wheel.

It is possible that Autozone gave you the wrong part. Has happen to me many times.

    But to answer your question.

LS1/Lq4 crank yrs that are the same are 99' to 04'. After 04 they have switched to 58x reluctor wheel. These cranks will still work, just have to swap the reluctor wheel.

    I thought lq4 from 99 to 01 had a longer crank?

    Sorry Will, not correct.

LQ4's pre 99 have the LT1 crank, after 99 they have the LS crank through today. In 05 they switched to 58x RW's

OP make sure they didn't give you a LT1 crank.

I'm aware if the 7/8 flywheel flange vs 1 1/4 flywheel flange. That's why I picked the 99-01 6.0 so it would bolt directly to my 95 lt1. But since I bought a c5z instead- I thought I'd get a reman'd ls1 crank from a gto. Since auto zone has it for 143. When putting the 2 side by side- the stock lq4 long crank has the reluctor wheel pressed onto the backside of the flywheel flange while the (supposed) ls1 gto crank has a partition for the reluctor wheel to be pressed about 1/2 closer to the 8th journal. Just didn't make since I went ahead and ordered an ls2 vette 24x crank. Hope this one works out. Oh and I have a gen3 because of the 2 valley knock sensors
