LS1 Guys...Need Help Fast!
I'll start off by saying that all i've ever built were LTX motors. I have some knowlege of the LSX, but not as much as you guys. My buddies '01 Trans-Am threw a rod a few months ago, and the motor is now sitting at a local machine shop waiting to be built. The owner is ready to grind the cam, but we don't exactly know what cam to go with? The car has the following mods:
Bored .020"
6.0 LQ9 Heads (mildly ported)
stock Z06 Intake
Lid/Ported Throttle Body
QTP Long Tubes/ORP/Dynomax 3" Bullet
Yank 3800 stall
stock 3.23 gears at the moment, but soon 3.73's
The conditions are basically that it has to pass smog (California) and have a decent balance of street/strip performance. And what injectors would you recommend?
Anyone have any suggestions? He told me to mention that he wants as choppy as an idle he can get. Thanks a lot guys for the info!
