black- 1963 Impala
ls1 clutch and flywheel
I am mating a 1999 Corvette ls1 with a t-56 Trans out of a 1998 Camaro.
I want to install a new clutch kit. This is not a racing application the engine tranny are going in a 63 Impala crusier. I am getting conflicting information on about flywheel/clutch combs's. Do I need a dual mass flywheel? Exedy offers a reasonably priced clutch, flywheel, PP, TO bearing and tool for about $260. However, it is not a dual mass flywheel that apparently the Corvettes had from the factory. They alone are $550. I also understand you cannot surface a dual mass flywheel even once.
Can anyone offer a recommendation for this combo?
Thanks
Sarge
