    Ls Q's

I pulled a ls motor out of a 99-02 chevy pickup. its a 5.3 vortec but i'm unsure if its an lq4 where is it marked?

Im planning to swap the motor into my Mustang. and later on down the line id like to add a Kenne Bell kit for the 2010 camaro which i understand is a ls3 and Im curious as to whats needed to get the kb to work properly?

and are there any "special" tools that i need in order to brak down an ls motor?

    Sadly now demodded :(

5.3 cast iron block out of a truck is an LM7 IIRC... If Al block it's an LM4. Good engine if you add an LS6 cam and heads. ~360 HP at that point...

LQ4 is a low compression 6 liter Al block...

The LQ9 (6L hi compression engine) is what you really want (404hp engine out of an Escalade)...
