lower compression with gaskets?????
-i heard that you can lower compression by changing to a thicker head gasket, i want to lower the compression so it will be safer to run more boost. i have a lt-1 and i want to run 14 lbs. i am running 9 right now
-do you think i would blow my head gasket by running a thicker one. yet again this is just what i have heard.

that would be a cheap way to lower the compression. but, the thickest gasket you could get would be .051". i think stock are .045". about .1-.2 less compression. every .006" = 1cc. plus, the thicker the gasket, the more chance of popping it if you get into detonation. honestly, the best way is dished pistons and a thinner gasket. this pushes the mixture closer to the piston instead of the chamber.
