At a Loss
So my baby has been down for over a year and i finally got her all back together. but i am having some issues.
The car idle's just fine, Still back fires ( No cats ) Like it did before.
It is hard to describe but i am on the freeway doing 70mph in 5th i shift to 6th and push the gas the shifter shakes, then engine looses power I think i hear it backfiring and the check engine light starts flashing. if i bring up the RPM's by shifing back in 5th everything seems ok,
it does the same thing on city streets just lower gears so i dont think it is 6th or the trans.
Just out of ideas

Arctic White & Black- '98 WS6 M6 - SWAPTIME!
Tune up? Coil packs? Injectors? Fuel filter? Fuel pump? Sounds like a misfire more though.
Mine used to do that. It turned out to be fuel PSI regulator and fuel pump

Same thing happened to me once it was a d@mn valve spring on a customers car, he had a stock cam and the valve spring just broke and caused a cylinder miss fire.
