    L92 402 Stroker

OK, here's what I have: forged 402 LS2 G5X2 comp custom grind 232/240 .595/.608 112lsa, L92/L76, Vararam. My numbers are 431/400 M6 on a Mustang Dyno. My a/f ratio at WOT is 12.8 and 28.5* timing. Peak torque at 4900 and still climbing at 6500 for RWHP. Is this low? It seems to flatten on the top. Is this to lean for a street strip car and what timing has anyone been able to get? I am headed back to my tuner to add some fuel and some timing if it will go. Please help I am open to many opinion but want good ones. For what I have It should be a bit more i think. I see people with less around there. Please Help!!!

Sounds about right to me considering the fairly small cam and the Mustang dyno.

I say take it to the track and get some 1/4 mile times. Mustang Dyno's are not EgoJets. They read low. Your numbers seem low to me, but Dyno numbers dont mean a dang thing other then a good tuning device.

Still, take it to the track and get some MPH readings.

Not a horrible time. But, I have been cutting 90-92 MPH in the 8th the last 10 runs and trapping 114-116 in the 1/4. Im running a stock shortblock (6.0 LQ4) with some seriously small chambered heads. I also have not been past a 1.9 60' with any of my 90-92 MPH 8th miles pass's.

Edit... Ive gone a quickest of 8.13 at 92.43 MPH. Would be interesting to see what your car would do in the 1/4.

Unfortunately we don't have a 1/4 mile track close. I am planning on going to Joliet, Ill to race in one of their classes towards the end of September so we will see then.

I have read over and over that those L92's like a completely different camshaft that cathedral port LS heads. If you change anything, I bet it would be the cam. There are a few people at the other site that could really, really help you out with a custom cam for a L92 headed 402. PM me if you dont know thier names, or the site, for a few humdred dollars you might just pick up what your wanting.

yeah its a custom grind from comp i bought it through Texas Speed and and they said a split of 8 between intake and exhaust is what the L92's like. I am still waiting for the re-tune since i added the vararam.
