    I need some info installing 6.0 in a Fbody

    Hi there
    My buddy is instaling a 6.0 truck motor in his 2000 B4c Fbody.If I remember right the motor is out of a 01 Chevy truck.He is going to use a ls6 intake that he already has . Can he use his stock pcm just have it reprogram also what cam & headers of any other parts does he need to make it work out.any info would be appreciate.

    everything fromthe ls1 will work on the 6.0 motor all you have to change over from the ls1 is the oil pump pick up tube and oil pan.

    I'm pretty sure the 6.0 out of a 2001 pickup will have a 52 tooth reluctor ring versus the LS1's 24 tooth ring....I'm pretty sure this will cause problems with the ECM.

    That 6.0L is going to have iron heads if not mistaken. The relutor wheel have the 24x count you need. The bracket hole is going to need to be drilled and taped.Everything else while bolt right up. Is it a lq4 or lq9. The lq4 is going to have low compression like 9.5.

    All LS series have aluminum heads. Iron blocks maybe but heads are still aluminum.

    Not all 6.0 engines came with aluminum beads, my 2000 chevy 2500 truck came with a 6.0 and had cast Iron heads. and if I am not mistaken the real early 01 models could have had ether.
