How Drivable?

question for all you cam experts out there. i was wondering how street drivable the cam im looking at is? i usually put close to 1000 mile a month on the camaro. heres the specs:

A4 camaro

236/240 .630/.612

LSA 112

i dont know jack shit about cams, but that seems like a lot of lift....just my .02

What lsa, what is the lobe design, and for a stick or auto ?

In any case just looking at the numbers you gave, seems bigger than I would want to run. Mostly because if you are going to be driving it that much you will need to keep an eye on your springs. I do about the same amount of driving on my Camaro as a daily driver with a 226/228 .585/.588 lsa 112 cam and it is fine, though a bit bitchy sometimes.

in my opinion that sounds like a max effort cam for daily driving, plus when you get over .600 lift you will want to start looking at replacing your valve springs every year and maybe more often for higher lift.
go too big on your cam for the street and you will hate it and hardly get to use it to its full potential. I would and did go with a smaller cam......but then everyone idea of dd friendly is different

is that an ebay cam for $115? hr292 grind (fresh copy)
if it is, the guy does offer good cams, that's where I got mine from (hr284 grind), I think the 292 would be a bit too big

at least if you went with the ebay cam and you thought it was too big, youd only be out $115 and could sell it to a friend!

Depending on the tune, you can make it street drivable. With that cam, I think it's a bit too big for a daily driver. The lift on the springs will wear them out pretty quickly. You'd probably be replacing them every 12-15k miles, and that's being generous.
