How to decide what kind of Heads to buy?
I'm going to be doing some heavy modification to my 01' WS6 next summer. To summarize, I'll be installing a D1 Procharger, with all the necessary mods.
How do you choose which heads to buy? Here are my cam specs.
-SI4 Cam 228/228 .588/.588 113+2
Thanks

Aluminum heads will allow you to run approximately 1 psi more boost than cast iron heads due to their ability to dissipate heat. The more flow, the better. Just like intake flow is important, the exhaust flow is just as important. This is why people get 1-7/8" headers. Depending on how much boost you'll be running, you also want to keep your compression in check.
Any info on running that camshaft you have with a blower setup?Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Oh ok, I didn't know that about aluminum heads. I'll be leaning on the shop's expertise on this one. The gent from the shop I'm bringing it to, I will ask him for his best suggestion, since they did my current mods.

317 heads if you wanna bump the compression down alil bit to run alil more boost
862 heads if you wanna bump up the compression to get alil more hp
243 heads if you wanna stay the same but have a better flowing head.
Port any of said heads if you wish to gain more of what they have to offer. Of course these are "budget" heads that can be found anywhere.
If you have a larger budget, trickflows are hard to beat

I'm not going to cheap out, and I really want the Trick Flow Heads. Is there a specific kind you'd recommend?

I recommend AFR...I've seen some absolute beasts running AFR's. They aren't cheap, but they are really nice.
Buddy of mine is running a set on his C5 ZO6 with a cam and put down 490rwhp...can't give you specifics but I can find out if you want to know.2000 Black TA M6 - LT's, ORY, UMI Short Stick, TT2's, Drilled/Slotted Rotors, Braided Lines, and Tuned by Vengeance SCCA and Car Show Approved

AFR heads, complete, run about $2500. They're not cheap.

TFS 220 "as cast". Order from Brian Tooley and have him do his thing. Make sure you order with powdered metal valve guides. Upgraded trunnion stock rockers, BTR cam and springs. I plan on taking mine past the 1000 HP mark. No worries.

I just asked because as you know, all anyone ever talked about was EPP's blower cam. I haven't really researched much lately about anything as I have no desire to dump anymore into my car at the moment. However, at some point I might go bigger and info like this to keep in my back pocket for later is nice.
Guessing lots of info out there if I go looking (without naming where)?
