    Heads not stamped

I'm currently working on a 00 corvette. Looked where the head is usually stamped. It's blank. Is this normal for a corvette.

    NO....

For factory heads there should be a stamp on the left side of the head as you look at it. Does it look grind off?

    May be aftermarket....

Actually the more I look at it the right head is grinder of smooth. The left head says 853. Weird.

Sounds like someone was trying to pass the heads off as something else.

853 was used on different LS1 applications from 99-04. Could very well be the original heads.

Sorry got my heads mixed up. 806 were for 97-98 LS1's.

853's are the truck version of 241's for those yrs.
