    Cool Which Heads!?

OK guys, My motor is together and was going to be using stock 806 casting heads port & polished with 1.57 & 2.02 valves....but am thinking I want to go ahead and get a nice set of heads while I still have a chance. I have a 224/228 112 lsa cam / fast 92 / flp headers / comp pro mag 1.75 rockers / pro mag lifters / comp springs, pushrods / performabuilt level 2 tranny / arp everything / all new bearings, rings, oil pump.....so I guess I would be looking for some good heads for this setup maybe with a little room to grow in the future as well. I'll also be going with a shot of direct port nitrous haven't decided on what system yet. Please let me know your thoughts Thanks!!!

Price has alot to do with what heads you will be looking at.

KY Speed is a sponsor here and sells good brand name heads. Look them up and shoot Mark a PM. He will help you out.

Thanks for the reply Hi-Po but truly this is BS.....there can be someone asking what cam should I get but if you ask a question like which heads would go with my existing setup nobody answers? I guess you have to post a bunch of replies to sh$t you don't even know your talking about to have someone reply to your question.....I mean come on I guess the people that know what they are talking about don't respond to newbs but the people that don't know sh$t talk alot......am I right?....feels that way

Alright man, calm down. Everyone here will help... just sometimes threads get over looked. Lets start here...

    Your full mod list
    Your expectations for you car
    Track car/ Daily driver'
Most importantly, how much money you got to spend on heads?

Lets start there and im sure someone will chime in along with me. Dont jump the gun too soon on not getting replies. We will try to help you out. But it really comes down to how much you wanna spend. With your mods, and probably on stock cubes... I would say..

AFR 205's. GREAT mid lift flow and excellant throttle response. But they are pricey. See how this works?

Guess you gotta stir some people up to get a response My expectations for my car well I gotta say the most power I can get out of my stock cubes N/A...the car isn't a DD I have a truck I drive but when I get the car together I'll prolly drive it a little more at first, but for the most part I'll drive it on the weekends. As far as money I'm willing to spend on heads I would say around 2K I believe with the money I have in parts now, if I wanted to go to a bigger cube motor most of my money could transfer to that motor correct me if I'm wrong..this is my first ls motor actually my first car that I've actually had the money to make badass or what I want to be badass.

Well, a 228 is not a peak power cam. Meaning, it will not get you the most power on stock cubes. The heads will not either. AFR , TFS heads with a large cam, 240+ will get you the mosr "peak" power. Read up on it. Mamo AFR heads run about 2500 - 3000 I *think*. Someone might correct me. Your 228 is going to make power through the entire power band and not be so peaky. Good street cam that will perform well at the track also.

Well I guess what I mean when I say "drive it on the weekends" I mean drive it around the street on the weekend. I'll probably only take it to the track a few times to see what my numbers are.. mostly just want a fast car

My friend's got the 205's and put down good numbers. I'd say go with the 205's for a street car. 225's for a track car.

Go with a bigger cam. If your willing to flycut, go with 23x duration cam and some TSP stg 2.5 5.3 heads. You'll still have decent street manners as long as the tune's good and it'll rip on the street or strip.

Already have my cam.....just down to deciding if it would be worth it to get a different set of heads rather than going with P&P 806's with 1.57, 2.02 valves

I agree with HI-Po that cam is not close to max power, but to answer your question
"yes" with that cam a set of PRC stage 2 heads milled to 59cc will make a great combo
    for a weekend 10-bolt destroyer!!!!
