head milling
I'm looking for some pointers guys.
I have 241 head castings on my 04 GTO. I've already ported them and looking to mill them now.
right now I'm running a 220/224 .580/.590 112lsa cam and looking to upgrade to something around a 236/242 .580/.590 112lsa.
no matter what exact cam I get I want to stay at or below .600 lift since this is my DD and I don't want to be beating the hell out of my valve springs.
so my question is how much can I take off the heads to bump my compression up......can I go all the way down to 59cc and still run pump gas?
I know there is a difference between dynamic and static compression and I think I was told 8.75:1 max dynamic compression on pump gas, but not certain, and I don't know how to figure dynamic compression from static compression.
also I don't want to have to flycut my pistons for PTV clearence

That cam will not clear if you mill it ANY at all. You will have to run a stock thickness (.054 compressed) head gasket too.

It would clear a cleanup mill but that is about all........
