Head cam swap
I'm bored so I made this to pass the time. Sold my stall today and selling the radardetector and and corvette tips to pay for the materials needed to do my worked 5.3 head and cam swap.
So far I guess I need
lifters
pushrods
head gaskets
oil
coolant
cam
have
ls-6 oil pump provided by Crash
heads
valve springs
So discuss who you guys have had good experience with, if you found any of this stuff for sale used local or whatever and what head gaskets etc you reccomend- if anything a thicker gasket might be cool since I have 58cc on the heads. The cam is probably going to be a 220 w/ a 114 lsa.

looking for low end power man, that's why I got rid of the stall I have a thread on it somewhere. I need that idle to be at or under 600rpm she needs to be very liveable with this cam and stock stall, others have done something similar same 220 cam(unfortunatley w/o headers so i have no real numbers). It will be a rare build and hopefully a real hyde.

New Head Bolts...stock bolts can NOT be reused

TR224 cam over the 220. TR224 cam is 100% awesome setup for driving on the street and it wont kill your brakes

That stock stall is going to hinder this project. Almost any cam is going to want a higher stall. What cam are you going with? 220? Man, I just cant imagine keeping stock stall and doing heads/cam.

I know it's weird but my whole swap is going to be very mild. probably along the lines of 220, I have talked to a few who have done it one in particualr w/ a 220 and stg 1 ls6 heads on stock stall drives "like stock" he said. He made 350rwhp w/ stock exhaust manifolds and just did the long tubes so no solid comparison.
Talked with another who did a 222/228 115 lsa and the idle is from 50rpm-100 rpm higher than stock. It's out there just definatley taboo
So I ask you on 84,000 miles do I really need lifter trays?

lifter trays are cheap and EZ while u r in there they are less then $40
Are you keeping the stock stall forever?
