Have a question for cam guys!
lift .566/.568 dur @ .050 224/224 lobe sep. 112
Is this a good comp cam. Have mods in sig plus LS6 Heads that will be P&P with milling. Will this cam make good power with some street manners.┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐
Man: The Mods you are fighting,
they are the biggest Men I have ever seen. I
wouldn't want to fight them!
Me: That is why no one will remember your name!

Blue- 2002 Z28 Camaro M6
Personally, I think you could go bigger, but that also depends on your goals. My cam is a 226/228 .585/.588 lsa 112. I drive my car roughly 1000 miles a month, and don't really have any problems with my cam (getting a good tune is very important). I could have even gone bigger, but I did not want to be going through springs every year.

Well my tune will be from LS1Speed so I should be good on that aspect. My goals were roughly around 425-450rwhp. I know numbers don't matter, 1/4 mile time does but thats what power I am shooting for if that helps.

It is a very good cam. Much like the TR224-112 I am running. Great low and midrange and stays strong through 6200 rpm. Many will tell you that it us too small. That's for you to decide. I like the street manners and power under the curve. If I need more, I re-jet the N2O.
Good cam. Period.

Would my power goals be attainable with that cam though. My car is a weekend warrior now but still want it drivable on the street. I also don't want to be going through springs every year as posted before.

Pewter- 2001 Camaro Z28 M6
if speed inc is doing your tune, call and ask larry what he would recommend based off your goals and driving habits.
I buy all my parts from speed and they do my tuning! excellent shop.
my cam is 231/237 6xx/6xx 112lsa speed inc grind.
I wouldnt recommend going that big for a daily driver. My car sees about 3000-4000 miles in the spring/summer and thats it.
SI3 224/224 114 or 112lsa
the SI3 with 112lsa will have a mean lope in the exhaust and will be noticable in both fumes smell and sound. higher the number for LSA smoother sounding/running cam and less fumes
if your car is a DD stick with the SI3, its a great cam, makes strong numbers through the rpms.

Last 2 years my car has seen around 4,000 miles for the year (after 5 years of DD) I think I will call speed.inc since I have bought from them before and its the closest shop I trust to dyno my baby. Thanks for the help, maybe a custom grind. I just found this cam for dirt cheap and was wondering if I would be pleased with it.
