H/C/I swap
First and for most, i know you gurus are tired (as hell) of people asking this question and i want to apologize in advance for asking this. But is the TSP H/C package ( http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=203&catid=15 ) better than whats offered by TrickFlo ( http://www.trickflow.com/partdetail....autoview=sku)? The TSP package is cheaper, but the TrickFlo seem to be all the rage. I know the TSP produces a higher compression ratio (10.6:1(TFS) vs 10.75:1(TSP)) but should that be a determining factor?
And also, what supporting mods/preventive maintenance should i look in to since the engine will be out of the car. And any objection towards a tubular K-Member?
thanks again
and fyi, my rwhp goal is 440-500hp with FAST 90/90 (92 seems a bit excessive) QTP LTH, QTP Catted Y pipe and GMMG cat back exhaustLast edited by IT_SS; 09-29-2008 at 09:27 AM.

If I choose between the two I would go with the TF. Heard lots of good things about oth of them, but TF seems to be popping up alot.
What cam were you planning on going with TSP???
TF was using the 228. Which is a great cam.
On your intake, 90/90 and 92/92 are almost exactly the same. Only the mouth is bigger on the 92. 2 mm aint nothing... The runners are the same.

Blue- 2002 Z28 Camaro M6
Personally I believe the Trick Flows have more potential for power, and I would hope so since they cost so much more. The difference in between the two heads can even be made the same with a little machine work.
As for what cam to match up to them I would do alot of research and question asking. See what cam's are suggest by custom cam grinders and speed shops.
I would also get a LS2 timing chain, Ported oil pump, and LS7 racing lifters while you are doing a head and cam swap. You will absolutely need springs that can handle your cam, but that will be determined by your goals for the car and might even come with the heads when you buy them.

I'd go TSP. Not sure the price difference as the Trick Flow link didn't say but I'm guessing something like $1,000.

I had TSP build the shortblock.
They didn't touch the heads. I did all that.
Tune is the key to idle and driveability.

Maybe.
Try not to focus on peak numbers so much though. Power under the curve is where it is at.

SCR isn't fixed, just mill the TFS's; why install them without? It's like giving away an increase that costs next to nothing...
