Fresh 6.0 build. what cam?

99 Z28 M6. Third build.

First build was done at 75k mi on original block, stock rotating assy, stock heads, LS6 intake, all free mods, Hooker/Borla full exhaust, and a Futral FMS-F14-112 FMS Custom Grind Camshaft - 232"/234" .598"/.598" 112LSA. After 3 tunes and a new ECU(due to a bodyshop eff up), it ended up putting down 415/394 on a Dynojet.

Sold the car at 99k to a buddy. He spun #6 main bearing and put the piston into the head at 106k.



I did the second build for him. Same block/crank. He took it to some half ass machine shop... They did a shit job. They left the ridge in #5 cyl. They dropped the block and smashed the piss out of a corner. It wasn't clean. I had to run a ball hone through at the cylinders to make them presentable.

I advised him to get all new rods/pistons... He went against that recommendation. Instead getting a USED rod/piston from said machine shop to replace #6. A new set of 243 heads, Magic Stick 4 239/242 .649"/.609" 112LSA, same intake and exhaust.

We never got to dyno that setup because he went straight retard and drove it on the tune from the first build...got maybe 4000 miles on it. He started it to head to work one day and heard a loud bang, driveway was covered in oil. #2 rod ended up going through the oil pan. Painful lesson to learn about being cheap on a build.

So, build #3 is happening this spring. Freshly machined 6 liter LQ9 iron block. This will be a stroker, but undecided what the rotating assy will be as of yet. What I'm looking for is suggestions for cam. I want him to have at least 500 on the ground. I wasn't happy with the magic stick. Whatdya think?

TSP Giant should reach your goals with worked 243/799 or 317 heads. Based on past 408s I've done at a past employer. I'd consider going custom spec also
