    engine swap started

    http://stealthram.com/engineswap.htm

in about 4 hours, had the trans out, and just about everything disconnected from the engine, i.e, wiring harness, belts, suspension, hoses, etc... pretty much all that's left is some wiring on the back of the motor and the bolts that hold the crossmember in the car. motor should be out tomorrow.
Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

If its coming out the bottom, why did you remove the trans with the car in the air? That's time consuming...

I JUST finished my engine swap, and dropped (or lifted the car ) the whole thing (engine, trans, K-member and suspension together) in under 2 hours.

And there is no need to disconnect the ground wires at the back of the head or the oil pressure sending unit. They stay connected - drop the engine harness with the engine!

I did mine thru the bottom. It was in my opinion almost easier that way once I learned how to do it. Less stuff to disconnect.

because i wanted to waste that 30 minutes removing the transmission and be able to see all the wires and vacuum lines.

under two hours!! you're a god at it. i'm not in a hurry.

going alot easier than i thought it would go. the fun begins with the install. i had to buy motor mounts from the dealer. kinda knew i would. just hoping i didn't. 80k on the original ones. $82 each though. no parts store listed the mounts.

Why not go with polyurethane mounts? They a good bit cheaper at $50 for the set, and they will hold up much better than the stock mounts. I had reservations about body shake due to the harder mounts before - but after I got the engine running I hardly notice the difference.

And getting dropping everything in under 2 hrs... it was my first. I've pulled multiple bodies from the chassis of newer Ford F150s and Expeditions at work, and I must admit, my car was more of a PITA!

i'd rather not take the chance of being the one with the vibration issue. i already have that with the trans mount.
