Engine size and CR calculator
Hiya guys,
I was doing some research compression calculations and came across a rather informative site : http://www.angelfire.com/fl/procrastination/motor.html.
You basically enter your Bore, Stroke, how many cylinders (I'd imagine you all have 8 lol), Combustion Chamber volume, Piston dome (or dish) and gasket thickness. Then hit the 'Compute' button. It seem pretty accurate, but I have yet to compare it to the actual formula for figuring CR's.
My input .::.
Piston size in inches :: 3.900" (stock)
Stroke in inches :: 3.620" (stock)
Number of cylinders :: No brain(er)
Combustion Chamber in cc :: 72 cc
Piston dome in cc's :: -2.2
(Dome = positive,
Flat = 0, dished = negative number)
Gasket Thickness in inches :: 0.052''
Output .::.
Displacement :: 346"^3 (wow, didn't see that one coming) or 5.67 LI
Compression Ratio :: 9.3.....
so it seems like a pretty useful tool....
I've also posted this on LS1Tech.com as well as SmokinVette.comInformation Technology Super Sport
