Engine Longevity
Hello everyone, I hope I am posting this in the right area. I am considering getting a newer Tahoe police package 05-07. Truck's that I have seen have usually any where from 90k to 150k. I know most likely the truck will have had a tough life, but I am curious to know if I used the truck as a daily and left it stock, how much longer would the motor last before I would need to either rebuild or replace it?
Thanks for any replies.

I have seen many 5.3s with well over 200k and still running fine, tranny will probably go before the motor

Thanks for replying, the 99's with the 5.7 L31 I think, lasted a long time. If do this it could either be a spare or a daily. I know 5.3's are plentiful, if it did need replacing it would not be that big of a deal, so we'll see. Thanks
