    2001 trans am

    engine

    Need help. I have 2001 transam with ls1 moter.my rod came out the buttom of my oil pan an startup.Ihave 14000 miles an my car.IT hapeand in my driveway.IT was an a bad rianing day.I have had no problem at all till that day so i was thing water got suck in and blow a rod.So i am wondering what i shoud do .rebuild my engine or by a long block.

    OUCH! Damn I feel for you. Sounds like an opportunity to put forged internals into your stock block. Assuming it's ok. Get that cam you wanted and CNC port those heads. You'll have to run the numbers and see which is the less expensive route to go. If the block is good I don't think I'd give it up to a core exchange.

    I have headers,air box,larger tottlebody,larger, mass air,cat back,larger y-pipe aluminun intack,160 termostat,hypertech programner

    Hmm thats not good, Got pics? anywho, You need too take a good look at your block and the chances are your gonna have to replace it if u threw a rod but you might luck out.
    Dont look at it as a bad thing but a investment in the making...
