    knock, yeah slight even after H/C swap.
    axle whine, nope not at all.
    clutch slip, nope Textralia not known for slipping.
    auto, not applicable.
    stereo, works like a champ.
    exhaust, nope after market fixes that.
    T-Top, nope no leaks.
    squeak/rattle, my bird definately has both.
    not like, hmmmm that it isn't a maro, but more importantly not a stang or ricer. lol.

    My t-tops leak if I park with the nose going uphill in my driveway, but if I back in they don't leak. So I back in when it rains or have to soak up the rainwater from the passenger floor well with a towel... Dampness causes issues with the Monsoon sound system, so if the tops leak, I have to leave the windows open until it all dries out and then the sound system works fine. And if things get damp from the leaking tops, adjusting my electric outside mirror(s) sets off the Laser alarm on my radar detector.

    let the car warm up well before driving it, some have a small knock when engine is cold.

    Does your rear axle whine ?
    stock rearend is weak, as soon as you track it a few times and build up some power look into replacing to a 12bolt or Moser 9

    Does your clutch slip ?
    manual transmissions don't slip only A4. but clutch slip? I dunno what that is.

    Does your auto trans slip ?
    putting a higher stall creates more heat, you need a tranny cooler or else you overheat tranny and it will slip.

    Has your Monsoon stereo gone south ?
    no but replace it anyways, stock headunit and speakers are crap.

    Does your exhaust system sound like shit ?
    no, because I got a Corsa... any decent catback sound pretty good.

    Does your T-top leak ?
    nope.

    Does you Maro squeek & rattle ?
    my TA did, got springs, shocks, SFC it went away.

    no knock, no whine, no slip, no auto, stereo replaced before I bought, got LT headers and entire exhaust replaced, no leaks, no rattles or squeeks to speak of when compared to any of my other vehicles, 80 TR7, 03 Saab, or 08 Grand Caravan, or even past cars, so no no unusual noises.

    Love the car, I looked at many cars including Mustangs, Porsche, BMW etc, but for price compared to real performance you cant beat the LS1 Z28. Oh and we almost bought a Corvette instead, but we really needed a 4 seater.

    My LS1 T/A has none of the above minus some creeking from old bushings. And thats even situational, once I change the bushings I'm sure all will be well.

    My '02 was a daily driver so it clocks in at 77k miles, my Z06 clutch is tight as a whistle and shes mechanically sound all around. Ever since I got to owning it (70,000 Nov last year) I have taken extreme TLC steps and I think thats really helped. The man who owned it before me was... negligent to say the least. To this day I am still fixing the appearence problems thanks to his poor driving...

    If you want one solid lesson in buying an LS1 F-body... inspect/have that shit inspected THOROUGHLY before buying. These cars are meant to be driven hard and thats exactly what people do.

    The engine knocks slightly. After adding the frame connectors, the squeaking diminished. None of the other aforementioned problems. The only thing I don't like about it.....it isn't a new ZO6!

    No knocks, as far as I can tell.

    No axle whine

    Tranny shifts great, no slippage

    T-s do NOT leak, or squeek for that matter

    There are a few interior squeeks, on rough roads the make themselves known.

    Exhaust sounds great, if only too quiet.

    Stereosounds okay, I htink it's time for new speakers though.

    BTW, car has 67k, I've had it a month and a half.

    I DID have to have a few pulleys replaced,they were making noise.

    Dislikes: limited passenger space (I knew about that though, it's the nature of the breast)

    Suspension crashes over rough roads

    Geared toohigh....2,73's, D'OH! Car wants to shift into OD all the time

    power windows suck

    Can't seem to keep the windshield from fogging up

    Stock LS1 did not.
    TSP 402 does not.

    Does your rear axle whine ?
    Never has. Moser 9" does hum a little bit, but I can barely hear it.

    Does your clutch slip ?
    Stocker did.
    Then the SPEC 5 did.
    Right now, the SPEC 4 doesn't.

    Does your auto trans slip ?
    No automatic tranny.

    Has your Monsoon stereo gone south ?
    One speaker crackles when the volume is low, otherwise, as long as I clean the CD player, it works fine.

    Does your exhaust system sound like shit ?
    No. I got rid of the Loudmouth years ago.

    Nope.

    Not much. No more than my '01 Grand Am GT.
    Of course, I have some suspension work done, which increases noise.

    You posted this one under the WRONG section!!! Since it's F body based that would have been my area of choice.

    Most all LS motors have audible piston slap noise which is what you are referring to with the knock ?.
    And the axle whine is due to improper set-up of the ring and pinion or excessive wear. I have had many different F body's that were customers and had no issues with whining. Now I have broke a axle or carrier a time or two though.
