Do i need new pushrods/springs with cam

I know its a good idea to get new ones but will the stock pushrods and springs be ok with a 224/224 cam with .581/.581 lift on a 112 lsa?

You need springs at least. Pushrods are a good idea but not mandatory unless your gonna be spinning the engine over stock speeds.

Stock springs are barely good enough to handle the stock lift. So those are required.

Hardened pushrods are recommended with a stiffer spring because the stock pushrods bend easily.

springs for sure. you're in there, stock pushrods are beat, so it's a might as well.

Unfortunately, it is always expensive to play with cars, and you don't want to skimp around on important things like the valvetrain. With that said, I have a similar cam 226/228 .585/.588 lsa 112 and I just did the cam, springs (Patriot golds only about 250 for everything), LS6 oil pump, and LS2 timing chain.

A tune should cost you anywhere between 400-500. Best is to put things off just a little longer and do it right once, instead of risking a major problem happening while trying to save a few bucks.
