Top specs are from Ls6
Bottom set from the 5.3
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's just a bigger cfm.

Here are some specs if you look around you should find what you need. A bit more difference between the heads then just flow rates.

Navy Blue Metallic- `98 Formula M6 HdTp
Try a search
But in a nutshell
The 5.3's are identical to LS1 heads except smaller chamber and valves
LS6 heads are a tuned up version of the LS1 head for better performance.
And the L92/LS3 head is the new Gen IV rectangular port head that out flows even the best aftermarket stuff. But won't work on LS1'sCraig

That depends if you are buy a real cheap set of ls6 heads or going aftermarket pp stage2 5.3 heads. Check thunder hill racing and patriot performance.

but according to previous posts the LS6 heads flow better than the 5.3
and they have 2 options of LS6 heads : 1.0 and 2.5

if you compare patriots listed numbers. Stage 2 5.3 heads flow 296 at .600 and stage 2 LS6 heads flow 304 at 600.
those are both with 2.02 intake valves. The stage 2.5 5.3 heads have 2.04 valves. I'm not sure how much extra flow the larger valves are worth but probably not a ton. Probably make them comparable to the LS6 heads with the 2.02's.

If you notice the bore size went up also. Just my personal opinion but if you want a good head just stick to the LS6 stage 2's. I also don't think there's a really huge difference between those and stage 2.5 5.3L heads. That's opinion of course.

I would do alot more then that, ask around and talk to lots of people, and don't forget to try to read as much about them as you can. Heads and cams can be intimidating at first, but eventually if you dive into the information and try to understand it will be easier to understand and you will end up getting something closer to what you want.

I agree. Ask as many people as you can and make sure you have an understanding of what you're getting before you get it. I see that happen with cams. People just sorta go with the flavor of the month and when they get it they're disappointed. Bigger is not always better. You need to pick the setup that suites what you want out of the car and what works for you. If you put miles on the car and do a lot of stop and go traffic then a 248 duration cam with .6xx lift on a 110 lsa probably isn't what you're looking for.

Well as far as the cam goes, from what I've read I want a 228 with 112 lsa.. i drive the car everyday... and I know they have heads and cams packages, I figured if I were to ask them waht heads they would recommend for that particular cam they would point me in the right direction

or they'll point you to whatever they have in stock.
Maybe not true but just making a point. It's always best to know what you want going in and have an understanding of why you want it.
