DD H/C Setup
Alright guys heres the deal. My 00' WS6 is my daily driver which sees 50 miles a day or so during the school year. Im looking for a heads/cam setup that will hopefully get me around 400 rwhp and still be daily driveable and not too bad on gas mileage. Possible? Heres my current setup:
Stock LS1 Internals
Pacesetter Coated LTs w/ ORY
Hooker 3" Catback
SLP Lid
Motive 4.10 Rear-End
Any help would be appreciated. If possible, please include costs for parts (self-install) and cost of dyno tuning. Thanks!

As far as milage your 4.10's are probably hurting you worse than the H/C. I would say anything under 228 duration ought to be pretty good for a DD, of course everyones idea of driveability differs. Personally Patriot has got a lot going for them lately. I am pretty happy with the set I have. Prices swing widely for dyno tuning, figure around $1,000-1,200 for the heads, 300-400 for the cam and maybe 500-600 for the tune. I don't know your mileage but you may need new oil pump, lifters. I would say you will have to also throw in a set of pushrods. If I knew your mileage I could give you a better figure, but that should get you started.

Car is currently just over 63k. What about porting and polishing the stock heads?

cost for porting 853 heads vs the gains often isnt very cost effective - patriot /livernois / tsp etc etc ported LS6 (243 castings) are a great bang for the buck
personally here is my favorite set up... cam only...
car was a beast for what it was...
ls6 intake
Thunder Racing 224 w. necc springs (stay away from comp 918's as they've been having many failures)
stock length hardened chrome moly PR's (7.400)
pacesetters/hpipe - bullets - turn downs
12 bolt w. 4.10's
rear suspension
some weight reduction (sound ded/ac syst/air/egr/back seats/spare etc)
11.6x @ 119 (i believe that was the mph - i know 11.6x was the ET)
car still got 28 mpg on the hwy

nothing changed but the heads. but for the sake of being detailed and giving correct info, i went with the Stage II Ls6 "style" heads 2.02" int/1.57" ext @ 59cc. so that helped to bump up my C/R to 11.1:1 and we all know that high compression (to an extent) gives just a little more HP...
