    cylinder heads dart vs. afr

so far i have found that a 205 afr head can produce 37 hp on a stock ls1

I havent found anythink on the dart 205 head but specs are very similar

on the arf it has a 66cc combustion chamber size and the dart is 62 cc, doesnt this mean more compression whick turns into even more hp if all the other specs are the same, valve size, cnc machining, intake port volume, wouldn'r the dart head prove more power

plus a set of arf are $2200 and the dart are about $780 a peice in jegs catalog.... you do the math

good heads for the price. few minor issues like the rocker stand guide notch has to be ground off, so it'll sit flat and not break.

yes, the 62cc will net a little more power.

i have personally seen the AFR heads produce 37 rwhp on a completely stock 2003 corvette with no tuning. it's a test that vinci did for AFR. the car was completely stock as from the factory. swapped heads only, nothing else and picked up 37 rwhp with no tuning at all.

i haven't seen any other head company do that kind of test.

Yes more compression will net you more power IF all other specs are the same.

However out of the box darts against out of the box AFRs, my money is on the AFRs everytime.

math says $60 per HP on AFR
if i was young and dumb again i woud probably spend the dough, now I won't even though I could afford it. now I might look for some 243 heads that are ported and bump the compression.
