all work on the street shark was performed by vinci high performance. they used a dynojet 248 DOS based. vinci was one of the first places on the east coast to have a dynojet back then.
the car has since added a procharger supercharger to it. on a stock bottom end, it's pushing 603 rwhp

Vinci is a wizard of the LS1.
That car must be a blast to drive.
I wonder how many miles that the motor will last at that horsepower level.
I know LS1s are strong but 603 rwhp is an incredible amount of power on a stock bottom end.
Edit --> From the article: Keep in mind this is the stock short block with 108,000 miles on the clock!
It sounds like you're in a good location. And a 500hp motor would make it even better.Last edited by Bearcat; 01-08-2008 at 06:47 PM.

You noticed how they state the heads were done with aftermarket valves with the same oem valve size, blueprinted oil pump with double roller chain. Baiscly that car is a heads/cam exhaust car. Notice the car was also tune by-outside co.( what about there hand held programmer). The cam may have been small to us but, but look at the whole picture.
Why could crane not take a stock ls1 f-body and only put there products on and leave everything else alone. I would like see a real world test of only that and there so called hand held programmer. Just my .02 cents
If they are going with all that other stuff, why not turn the heat up and put a monster cam and be gone with it so they make somewhere near 500hp.

This is some quotes from the first stages of the build.
http://www.cranecams.com/?show=streetShark
We didn’t have the new Crane PowerMax Power-Tuner during this stage of the project, so we were forced to reprogram the factory Engine Control Module to continue.
All later test phases, including our most recent dyno test were performed after power-tuning with the new Crane hand-held Power-Tuner, PT. NO. 1202-008.
This prove that it’s completely possible to make serious horsepower while maintaining complete reliability and fuel efficiency with the correct modifications and tuning skills delivered via the Crane Power-Tuner, Crane Cams LS1 products and carefully chosen and installed performance products.
NOTE: All performance installations, modifications and dyno testing performed by Vinci High-Performance, 105 Candace Drive, Unit 101, Maitland, FL 32751. Tech: 407/478-8388, FAX: 407/478-8389. E-Mail: roger@vincihighperformance.com
