Comp Cam XR273HR
Anyone use a Comp Cam XR273HR on 112? Looks like this is 220/224 duration and .530 and .534 lift. I've already got an LS6 intake and ported and polished TB, lid/bellows/coolant bypass, and pulley and Adjustable Borla with DMH eCutout. LTs and catted Y going on in the next couple of weeks. Will probably throw on a set of ported 243's on later. Car is a M6 with 4.10.
Would be very nice if anyone has some firsthard experience with this cam and setup. Also would welcome power output and characteristics comments. TIA

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
Would drive damn near stock.
Pretty mild cam that would basicly keep the stock powercurve.
I would suggest a TR224 in place of that though.
Emissions to pass?

I'll have to read up on it. I was a little surprised of the recomendation from Comp Cams. I had previously considered something in the .58x lift and 228 duration.
Whatever I end up getting, I have to make sure the it really starting pulling hard at 2500 to 3000 rpm.
Also, I found a pair of takeoff 243 casting heads with less than 5K orig miles. Would these heads be any good for a budget build. I sure like $500 better than $2000.

I'm definitely not an expert but I've got the comp cam 269 and the mid and top end was quite noticeable over stock. I'm sure you'll enjoy the 273. Is it a cruzer or are you heading to the track?

First thing that will help in deciding a cam is what are you goals ?
Second thing that I have noticed is Comp Cams is very conservative with their cam suggestions. What I suggest is call, talk, and read as much as you can with people that specialize in our cars. They will have a better idea of what works in the real world (Comp reps use their computer program which is not LS1 specific as far as I know). The cam they suggested will be very tame and drive fine, but if you are going to do the work you might want to try and get all that is on the table and still keep the same driveability.
Personally I have a 226/228 .585/.588 lsa 112 that I use as a daily driver and it sees right around if not more than 1000 miles a month. The cam is obvious because of the lope, and cold starts can be bitchy sometimes, but other than that I did not loose anything (not even mpg), just gained hp.

I went with a 220/224 .570/.580 112lsa. if I did it again I'd probably go alittle bigger, maybe a 228

Hey TICKWOMP,
YOUR M6 W/ 4.10 GEAR & DOIN' LT'S W/YOUR OTHER MODS I WOULD SAY
THE TEXAS SPEED 228R WOULD BE THE BEST MATCH , I,VE SEEN THAT SAME SET UP
W/& WO/ HEADS...... BOTH WERE GREAT COMBO!!!
WOULD ALMOST BET IF YOU CALLED T/SPEED THAT'S THE CAM THEY WOULD RECOMEND WITH TOUR SET UP!
