    casting number

    i have an 02 m6 ss and my casting number on my heads is 243 and my buddy who has a 02 ws6 has 241 why are they different and what does it mean

    Means you are quite lucky. The 243 casting is for the LS6 heads. The 02s came stock with 241s.

    sweet i always wondered why my car performed so well compared to his, we have pretty much the same mods and we couldnt figure out why mine was alot faster that is why we got to looking at the heads

    Someone might have put an LS6 cam in your car as well. No way to really check that without getting the cam out though. Defiantly means someone has tinkered around inside there before though.

    If it wasn't "abused" then that's not such a bad thing.

    Your car probably does put 345 to the wheels if it has an LS6 cam and heads even if it has the stock exhaust.

    i have hooker long tubes and full magnaflow exhaust i also have a slp lid 8.8mm wires and ngk iridium plugs, ls6 intake, off road ypipe, 3.73 reard end gears and a diablo sport tuner

    You've got LS6 heads. Somebody must have swapped em cause no F Bodies came with em. Not the original owner I'm guessing?

    third owner and the guy i got it from bought it from the bank cause it was a repo so he had no idea what had been done to it

    If I were you I would look into getting a real tune. My car picked up 20 rwhp over a diablo tuner with the same mods... minus the heads
