Casting 862 Heads

I picked up my car that was advertised as 6.0 heads on it and found out that it actually had 5.3 heads on it by the casting numbers. I was given a bunch of receipts for work that had been done to the car and there was one where some valves had to be replaced in one cylinder and the intake was a 2.05 that was put in when by the specs it should have been a 1.89 valve. My question is is this something that a lot of folks do to the 862 heads and would this make the heads flow much better?

hopefully all the valves were changed.....sounds like maybe they put some worked aftermarket heads on there. Stock cam?

It has a cam motion cam in it but don't know the specs. I am sure if they replaced a valve with a 2.05 valve then all of them should be that size. I was just wanting to know if that is one of the upgrades done to the 862 heads.

yes...sounds like stage 2.5 heads to me.

What year is your 5.3? My 2007 came with 243 heads stock.

the 862's are off the early 4.8-5.3 motors after about 99 I believe. I also believe texas speed used to have the 2.05 valve opton on those heads at one time. I run 2.04 valves on mine.

Does Texas Speed have somebody work there named Jason Mott. If so they did put these heads on this car. I spoke to him and he said he could tell me everything they did to the engine but can't get back in touch with him now.

man....I couldn't tell you. That name sounds familiar to me but I couldn't be sure. Have you called Texas Speed?
